The Checklist: Emotional Resilience
A quick look at the
“how” and “why”
of emotional resilience
from the video above.
How | Why |
---|---|
Cultivate Self-Awareness | Understanding your emotional triggers creates space to choose your response instead of reacting impulsively. |
Develop Healthy Coping Mechanisms | Engaging in constructive outlets like exercise, journaling, or talking to a friend helps release stress productively. |
Embrace a Growth Mindset | Viewing challenges as opportunities for learning fosters persistence and transforms setbacks into growth. |
Build a Strong Support Network | Having people who offer encouragement and perspective strengthens your ability to navigate adversity without going it alone. |
The Pause Portal: Drogo Leaves (Intention)
We have a plan
It’s a good plan.
And then something happens.
And by “something”,
I mean, “life”.
Some things are seasonal
like the leaf fall
just below the imposing Castle Drogo.
Clattering and scattering on the ground and granite.
Some things are constant
like the roaring River Teign
a sound without interruption or respite.
Some things are unexpected
like the dog walker
whose dogs “photobomb”
my filming.
But wait a minute…
I recognise those dogs.
I recognise their owner.
And there is the sound
of laughter and joy
and happy dogs
as two friends recognise each other.
Take a breath.
Some things today will be seasonal
Some things today will be constant
Some things today will be unexpected
We can make hopeful choices
and healthy choices
no matter what comes.
Make this your intention.
Breathe out.
Try it and see what difference it makes.
