The Checklist: Youth Mental Health
A quick look at the
“how” and “why”
of supporting Youth Mental Health
from the video above.
How | Why |
---|---|
Open Conversation | Young people need safe spaces to express their feelings without judgment, enabling early identification of mental health challenges. |
Emotional Regulation Skills | Teaching young people to identify and manage their emotions provides them with control, helping to reduce anxiety and stress. |
Balanced Routine | A structured yet flexible routine that includes school, hobbies, exercise, and rest helps maintain mental stability and prevent burnout. |
Foster Connection | Meaningful relationships offer young people essential support, reducing loneliness and enhancing resilience. |
The Pause Portal: Grimspound (Flow)
This stream is 4000 years old.
At least.
It doesn’t have a name.
But that doesn’t stop it flowing.
This stream is probably why
the settlement Grimspound
was built there.
It gets less mention than
the remains of the long deserted settlement.
But that doesn’t stop it flowing.
The stream is in a remote place.
It takes effort to get there.
And the weather isn’t always kind.
Some days, it gets no visitors at all.
But that doesn’t stop it flowing.
Notice your breath coming out of your mouth
Ancient wisdom says this:
“Out of the overflow of the heart, the mouth speaks”
The heart may struggle with seasons of
name, fame and visibility.
But that doesn’t stop it flowing.
State today’s intention
“to make today’s flow a good one”.
Breathe out.
Try it and see what difference it makes.
